An individual lost their life early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Merced County, California. Authorities from the Merced County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the Campus Parkway on-ramp from Highway 140.

Deputies responding to the scene discovered a car fully engulfed in flames after it had collided with a traffic light pole. Once the fire was brought under control, responders located a deceased person inside the vehicle.
