Fatal San Bernardino County car crash death of John Vielle – Obituary

John Vielle, 35, from San Bernardino, lost his life in a suspected DUI-related collision that occurred Friday night in San Bernardino County.

Authorities in Rialto were called to the 800 block of West San Bernardino Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. following reports of a serious single-car crash.

Initial findings suggest the vehicle was being driven at a very high speed when the driver lost control just west of San Bernardino Avenue, resulting in the car slamming into a tree.

The force of the crash left all three people in the car with severe to life-threatening injuries.

Vielle, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The driver was rescued from the wreck and rushed to a nearby trauma facility in serious condition. Another passenger also sustained major injuries and was hospitalized.

While the investigation is still in progress, authorities suspect the driver may have been impaired at the time of the incident.

Rialto police confirmed that no arrests have been made as of yet, and they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
