Fatal Providence Township crash death of Jack Rowland and Brayden Sadler – Obituary

Jack Rowland and Brayden Sadler, both 18 years old and recent graduates of Otsego High School, were killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision involving off-road vehicles in Providence Township, Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred shortly after midnight near South River Road and Henry–Lucas County Road.

According to investigators, each teen was operating an off-road vehicle when they crashed into each other. Neither vehicle was street legal, and authorities said neither Jack nor Brayden was wearing a helmet. Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident.

News of their deaths sent shockwaves through the Otsego community, where both young men had graduated just days earlier. Superintendent Kevin O’Shea shared a heartfelt message with families, expressing sorrow and describing the teens as cherished members of the Class of 2025 and the larger school family. The district announced that grief counselors and mental health staff would be available to students starting Tuesday.

Community members, including coworkers, friends, and school staff, remembered the teens for their vibrant personalities and bright futures. Brayden’s employer, Larry Bertok, who owns Luckey Junction and Doc’s Rib Cage, described him as an energetic and humorous individual with a determined attitude and strong work ethic.

O’Shea emphasized the importance of unity and compassion as the community begins the process of healing and remembrance. The district encouraged families to talk openly with their children about grief and is offering additional support services.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from local law enforcement and emergency services. Representative Haraz Ghanbari also urged the public to remember safety protocols and keep the families of the victims in their prayers during this deeply sorrowful time.
