Fatal Chicago pedestrian crash death of Maria Ochoa Flores – Obituary
Maria Ochoa Flores, 84, was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in a crash near Midway Airport, according to Chicago police.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Archer Avenue. A 26-year-old man driving a silver car eastbound attempted to make a left turn, during which his vehicle collided with a grey sedan that was traveling westbound and driven by a 63-year-old man.
Following the collision, the silver vehicle continued forward and struck Flores, who was walking in the area. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the deceased pedestrian as Maria Ochoa Flores.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The driver of the silver vehicle was cited by police, and the case remains under investigation by Area One detectives. Further details about the crash have not yet been released.
