Fatal Morgan County car crash death of Joel Noble – Obituary
Joel Noble, a junior at Pittsfield High School, lost his life in a tragic two-vehicle collision on May 24 in Morgan County, Illinois. The crash took place shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Woodson Winchester Road in the town of Woodson.
According to Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson, Joel was fatally injured in the crash alongside fellow student Jesse Davidsmeyer, a senior at the same school. Both students were pronounced dead at the scene.
The devastating news has left the Pikeland School District and the Pittsfield community in mourning. Superintendent Todd Fox shared the deep sorrow felt across the school and local area, stating the community is in a state of shock and heartbreak.
In memory of Joel and Jesse, the district canceled a scheduled baccalaureate service and arranged a prayer vigil at the high school football field, set for 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Counselors and support staff have been made available to assist students, faculty, and community members.
