Fatal Hesperia car crash death of Martin Emilio Camino Constante – Obituary

Martin Emilio Camino Constante, a 22-year-old resident of Fontana and new father, lost his life on Friday evening, May 23, 2025, after being run over by a coworker driving a commercial box truck in Hesperia.

The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Oak Hill and Caliente roads. Authorities said that Constante and two coworkers had pulled over while traveling on the 15 Freeway to take a break. As they were preparing to resume their journey, the driver of the truck allegedly did not see Constante near the vehicle and accidentally ran him over.

Constante died at the scene. The driver, 31-year-old Rudy Sanchezbat of Chino, stayed at the location and cooperated with law enforcement. Deputies suspected he was under the influence and took him into custody. While he was not booked into jail, authorities plan to submit the case to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office to consider charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Constante is survived by his wife and their three-month-old baby. A cousin, Maria Castro, expressed the family’s heartbreak through a public statement, describing the loss as devastating for his loved ones and urging the community for prayers and support during this time of grief. A fundraiser has been organized to assist the family with funeral costs.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information is encouraged to contact the Hesperia Police Department or submit tips anonymously via the We-Tip hotline.
