Cathedral City, California Man Anthony Vega Arrested in Cathedral City for Fatal DUI Crash

CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA — Anthony Vega, a 35-year-old resident of Cathedral City, was arrested in Cathedral City in connection with a fatal single-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian on Saturday night.

According to the Cathedral City Police Department, Vega was taken into custody on Saturday during the investigation at the scene of the crash at Dinah Shore Drive and Via Echo. Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:50 p.m., involving a pedestrian later identified as 27-year-old Yuvinka Ponce of Cathedral City.

Vega was transported to the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio and is currently facing charges related to the incident.
