Kyle Glenn dies in fatal Black Mountain crash

Fatal Black Mountain crash death of Kyle Glenn – Obituary

Kyle Glenn, 44, of Black Mountain, North Carolina, was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 70 near the Acorn Motel on the evening of Thursday, May 22, 2025.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:18 p.m. when Glenn, driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, veered across the center turn lane and sideswiped the rear left corner of a Black Mountain police officer’s vehicle. The officer had been assisting a lost tractor-trailer driver with directions to a local warehouse.

After the initial contact, Glenn’s vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither the police officer nor the tractor-trailer driver sustained injuries.

Authorities say the cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
