Fatal Scurry County car crash death of Roy Edward Bolen Jr. – Obituary
Roy Edward Bolen Jr., a 54-year-old resident of Snyder, lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover accident Sunday evening in Scurry County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. as Bolen was heading westbound on U.S. Highway 180 in a white 2001 Ford F-250. Approximately five miles west of Snyder, he lost control of the truck, officials said in a news release issued Monday.
Preliminary findings indicate that wet road conditions contributed to the crash. Authorities stated that Bolen’s speed was not safe given the rainy weather, which led to the vehicle veering off the highway into the south ditch, sliding, and flipping over.
Bolen was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to DPS.
