Fatal Louisiana street assault and hit-and-run death of Gene Hill – Obituary

Gene Hill, 42, died after being violently attacked and left in the street where two passing cars fatally struck him late Friday night in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. According to police reports, Hill was involved in a heated argument with 43-year-old Tonnisha Mitchell inside her vehicle before the conflict escalated outside onto the street around midnight. Mitchell allegedly struck Hill multiple times in the head and body with a bat, causing him to collapse. After Mitchell fled, witnesses say Hill was unable to get up and was subsequently run over by two vehicles, resulting in his death.

 

Mitchell was arrested and faces charges including manslaughter and second-degree battery. Authorities also accuse her of attempting to destroy evidence in various locations following the attack. She remains held at Calcasieu Correctional Center as the investigation continues. The nature of the relationship between Hill and Mitchell has not been disclosed.
