Oliver McConnell dies in fatal Nashville fight

Fatal Nashville fight death of Oliver McConnell – Obituary

Oliver McConnell, a 25-year-old man from Nashville, died after sustaining critical injuries during a fight that broke out early Saturday morning on May 24.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the altercation happened around 1:45 a.m. on Church Street near Printers Alley. Officers responding to the scene discovered McConnell unconscious. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was found to have suffered a severe head injury. McConnell passed away over the weekend as a result of those injuries.

Investigators have determined that McConnell had been in a confrontation with two other individuals. Their identities were confirmed using surveillance footage and witness statements. Both men have been interviewed by detectives, though no charges have been filed at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed later this week as the investigation remains ongoing.
