Fatal Grapevine Lake hit-and-run death of Ava Moore – Obituary

Ava Moore, an 18-year-old who had recently joined the U.S. Air Force and was a star basketball player, tragically lost her life after being struck by a jet ski on Grapevine Lake in Texas. The incident happened Sunday evening while Moore was kayaking. According to police, two women riding a jet ski collided with her before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses rushed to aid Moore as she was pulled from the water with severe injuries. Despite life-saving efforts on the shore, she was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the jet ski immediately fled in a vehicle, reportedly crashing into another car while escaping. Police have released a photo of the suspected driver in hopes of locating her. The other woman on the jet ski stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Moore’s family expressed their grief, sharing their prayers for both their daughter and the families of those involved in the tragic event. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to bring justice for Ava Moore.
