Fatal Philadelphia Fairmount Park shooting death of Amya Devlin and Mikhail Bowers – Obituary

Two young adults, 23-year-old Amya Devlin and 21-year-old Mikhail Bowers, lost their lives in a mass shooting that took place late Monday night in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. Alongside them, nine others were injured during the violent incident.

The shooting erupted around 10:27 p.m. near Lemon Hill Drive and Poplar Drive, an area close to the popular Lemon Hill Mansion. Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel confirmed that multiple rounds were fired and officers present at the scene were attempting to control the situation as the violence unfolded.

Among the wounded are three teenagers aged 15 to 17, as well as others ranging in age from 18 to 28. The injuries sustained include gunshot wounds to various body parts such as the thigh, leg, foot, head, hand, arm, and nose. Authorities are also investigating how a crashed Hyundai may be connected to the event and whether any victims were inside the vehicle.

At this time, no suspects have been arrested and no weapons have been recovered. Police continue to examine 911 calls reporting disturbances earlier that night near the park, which is known for attracting large crowds during warmer weather and holidays. An official update is expected during a press conference scheduled for Tuesday morning.
