Fatal Cathedral City car crash death of Kevin Becerra – Obituary
Kevin Becerra, 24, of Cathedral City, was killed early Sunday morning in a collision involving a juvenile driver suspected of driving under the influence, police confirmed.
The crash happened at around 1:16 a.m. near the intersection of Ramon Road and San Eljay Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Becerra’s Nissan sedan with extensive damage on the passenger side and a Chevy pickup truck with significant front-end damage.
Authorities determined that the juvenile behind the wheel of the pickup was under the influence at the time of the crash. The teen was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. Due to his age, the suspect’s name has not been released.
Becerra was pronounced dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.
