Fatal Murfreesboro train accident death of Ibraheem Hull – Obituary

Ibraheem Hull, a 19-year-old resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, lost his life on Friday, May 23, after being hit by a moving train near West Main Street and Overall Street. Murfreesboro Police confirmed his identity following the fatal incident.

Authorities say emergency personnel arrived on scene shortly after 1:30 p.m., where Hull was pronounced dead by Rutherford County EMS.

Investigators believe Hull had attempted to cross the railway by navigating between halted boxcars of a stationary train. After throwing his bicycle onto the tracks, he leaned over to retrieve it. At that moment, another train was approaching from the opposite direction and struck him before he could escape.

Detectives from the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to examine the details of the accident. No further information has been released, and officials are reviewing whether safety measures were violated or not properly followed.

The tragic event occurred along a well-traveled stretch of rail in downtown Murfreesboro, sparking community concern over pedestrian safety near train tracks. Authorities are advising residents to stay alert and never cross through or beneath train cars, regardless of whether they seem immobile.

Funeral plans for Ibraheem Hull have not been made public at this time.
