Fatal Gadsden incident death of Regina Smith – Obituary

Regina Smith, aged 51, was found dead Tuesday morning after disappearing at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama. She had last been seen on Sunday while floating in the water at the base of the gorge.

 

Authorities reported that Smith vanished while on a flotation device, prompting a call to Gadsden Fire Department around 7:30 p.m. Sunday from a concerned family member. Emergency crews began a search in the Black Creek gorge area.

 

Her body was located around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford expressed appreciation that Smith was recovered, allowing her family some sense of closure. Further details may emerge as the investigation continues.
