Fatal Northwest San Antonio shooting death of Dmarcus Bowie – Obituary

Dmarcus Bowie, 31, was killed during an attempted robbery that escalated into a shootout on the night of May 24 near the 3300 block of Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio.

 

According to preliminary reports from the San Antonio Police Department, Bowie arranged to meet a 32-year-old man just before 9 p.m. During the encounter, Bowie allegedly tried to rob the individual at gunpoint and shot him several times. The victim returned fire, hitting Bowie during the exchange.

 

Bowie attempted to flee the scene in a white Ford Fusion but lost control of the vehicle, crashing into another car and a house near Babcock Road and Leming Drive. He was pronounced dead at the location.

 

The 32-year-old shooting victim was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. Police confirmed that no additional injuries were reported. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
