Oklahoma City, OK Man River Curnett Arrested in Oklahoma City for Fatal Stabbing at Homeless Encampment
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — River Curnett, a man wanted in connection with a fatal domestic stabbing, was arrested in Oklahoma City following a deadly altercation at a homeless encampment last week.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Curnett was taken into custody on Wednesday near Southwest 29th Street and Meridian Avenue. Authorities say the incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. last Friday at an encampment on Robinson Avenue near Southwest 15th Street, where officers discovered 56-year-old Richard Curnett fatally stabbed.
Curnett, who attempted to flee the state after being spotted near OKC Will Rogers International Airport, was the subject of a warrant for first-degree murder and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Curnett was transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center and is currently facing charges related to the incident.
