Phoenix, Arizona Man Johnny Olivarez Sr. Arrested in Phoenix for Fatal Shooting

PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Johnny Olivarez Sr., a 42-year-old resident of Phoenix, was arrested in Phoenix in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in a west Phoenix neighborhood.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Olivarez was taken into custody on Wednesday at a nearby home following the discovery of 35-year-old Ruben Longoria, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds near 61st Avenue and Indian School Road just after 7 a.m. on May 28. Longoria died at the scene.

Olivarez was transported to the Maricopa County Jail and is currently facing charges related to the incident, including first-degree murder.
