Isabelle Lawson dies in fatal Kernersville car crash

Fatal Kernersville car crash death of Isabelle Lawson – Obituary

Isabelle Lawson lost her life in a tragic car accident in Kernersville this past weekend, a crash that also triggered a fire at Caudill’s Electric Company. Her family spoke to FOX8, sharing their sorrow and memories as they grieve her loss.

The Lawson family described how addiction, mental health struggles, and negative influences combined to create the circumstances surrounding the crash. Isabelle was accused of stealing a Corvette, which was spotted by Kernersville police. When officers tried to stop her, she fled, leading to a brief pursuit of less than a mile and under one minute in duration. The chase ended when Isabelle’s car crashed, and she died instantly at the scene.

Nancy Compton, Isabelle’s grandmother, expressed profound heartbreak, noting that while the building damaged in the fire is replaceable, Isabelle is irreplaceable. Vanessa Lawson, her sister, spoke about Isabelle’s deep love for her son and her determination to do right by him despite past difficulties.

Isabelle had a challenging history, including several arrests related to drug possession and ongoing struggles with addiction. Her father, Derek Lawson, urged people to see beyond the mistakes and recognize the loving person she was. He shared that Isabelle had begun making positive changes in her life over the past year and that something seemed emotionally wrong with her in the days before the accident.

Derek revealed he had daily conversations with Isabelle in the week leading up to the crash, but sensed she was troubled. He speculated that she might have made a desperate decision rather than asking for help.

While many questions remain about what led Isabelle to take the car and what happened in the moments before the crash, her family remains certain of two things: they will deeply miss her presence, and they will always remember her fierce loyalty and love.

The family is asking for prayers and privacy as they navigate this difficult time.
