A deadly shooting in Michigan City on the night of Thursday, May 29, claimed the life of 25-year-old Treven Armstrong from Gary and left his brother critically injured.
Around 10:58 p.m., officers were dispatched after a 911 call reported an attempted homicide near the intersection of Dewey Street and Michigan Boulevard. When police entered the residence, they discovered brothers Treven Armstrong and 24-year-old Christopher Armstrong of Indianapolis suffering from gunshot wounds. Treven was pronounced dead at the scene, while Christopher was rushed to Franciscan Hospital and later transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators from the Michigan City Police Department, supported by the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office, executed a search warrant and collected evidence from the home. Eyewitness accounts and collected materials led detectives to identify 23-year-old D’Marcus Thompson of Gary as the individual responsible for the shooting.
