Fatal Boyle Heights crash death of Martin Soria – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man who died following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Boyle Heights early Friday morning.

The driver, 30-year-old Martin Soria, was behind the wheel of a rented silver Aston Martin sports car when he collided with a light pole near 3 a.m.

After the crash, Soria attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers. While being taken into custody, he suffered a medical emergency, believed to be cardiac arrest, and lost consciousness.

Emergency responders tried to revive him at the scene, but he was pronounced dead. The California Highway Patrol noted that only minimal force was used during the arrest, and it remains unclear whether impairment or substance use played a role.

The official cause of death is still being investigated. The car’s owner, Juan Orozco, shared that Soria had rented the vehicle through a luxury rental service and had been in regular contact, appearing responsible during the rental period.
