Michael Anthony Valdez, a 47-year-old resident of Dyer, was confirmed dead following a single-vehicle crash in Hammond early Saturday morning. The incident occurred near the Domino’s Pizza location just north of the Borman Expressway and Kennedy Avenue interchange.

 

The Lake County Coroner’s Office positively identified Valdez through family confirmation. According to reports, Valdez suffered multiple blunt force traumatic injuries resulting from the crash. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the Lake County Forensic Center.

 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available. This tragic event underscores the dangers of single-vehicle accidents, which remain the most frequent and deadliest types of collisions in the United States.
