Joshlyn Dyson, a 22-year-old father from Memphis, was fatally shot in the Frayser neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, May 31. His fiancé confirmed his identity and shared that Dyson left behind two young children, a one-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son.

 

Memphis Police reported that the shooting took place just after 12:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Frayser Boulevard. Surveillance footage showed Dyson leaving a tobacco store shortly before the incident. A man wearing a black ski mask approached him, shot him in the face, stole an item, and then fled the scene in a silver, late-model sedan.

 

Dyson was declared dead at the scene. The shooting occurred in broad daylight in a busy shopping area, leaving many witnesses shaken and mourning. Neighbors expressed their fear and hope for safety in their community, emphasizing the need for unity and vigilance against violence.

 

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing as authorities seek to identify and apprehend the suspect.
