Fatal Bakersfield trailer fire death of Amber Marie Wimberley – Obituary

Amber Marie Wimberley, 52, of Bakersfield, tragically lost her life in a mobile home blaze that occurred on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

The Kern County Fire Department responded around 1:36 p.m. to reports of a trailer fire in the 6000 block of State Road in northwest Bakersfield.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a trailer at the rear of a trailer park fully engulfed in flames beneath power lines, with a vehicle and makeshift living space also burning.

Wimberley was found deceased inside the trailer along with two dogs who also perished in the fire. Outside the trailer, one individual and a dog suffered moderate injuries; the person was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.

Both the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and fire department arson investigators are actively investigating the incident. The coroner’s office plans to perform an autopsy to establish the exact cause and manner of Wimberley’s death.
