Fatal Tulsa highway crash death of Carlos Arteaga – Obituary

Carlos Arteaga, a 21-year-old from Broken Arrow, lost his life Sunday night after a wrong-way driver struck two motorcycles on Interstate 444 near South Denver Avenue in Tulsa.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 9:10 p.m. when a Chevrolet Silverado heading east in the westbound lanes crashed into the motorcycles. Arteaga died at the scene, while the second motorcyclist was taken to a Tulsa hospital for treatment.

Troopers reported that the driver of the Silverado is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. Though authorities have not confirmed an arrest, the man was transported to a Tulsa hospital by a trooper and later medically cleared.

Investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
