Authorities have confirmed the identity of a 15-year-old girl who was fatally shot early Sunday morning outside a fire station in Aurora, Colorado. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as K’Tahna Jordin Smith.

 

Smith was discovered with gunshot wounds near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2 at 12600 E. Hoffman Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. Firefighters returning from a call encountered Smith and a 20-year-old woman suffering from gunshot injuries outside the building.

 

Both individuals were rushed to a local hospital, where Smith was later pronounced dead. The other woman is expected to recover. Authorities also reported that a third victim, another minor, sustained a grazing gunshot wound during the incident.

 

Police are still working to uncover the circumstances that led to the shooting. No suspects have been arrested as of Monday, and the investigation is ongoing.
