Mya Jackson, a 22-year-old woman from Tunica, Mississippi, was killed in a single-car accident that also left a young boy hospitalized. The crash took place Tuesday morning on Prichard Road, prompting a swift response from the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office after a 911 call from a witness who saw the incident unfold.

Deputies arriving at the scene found a severely wrecked vehicle with two occupants inside. Jackson was treated on-site but tragically succumbed to her injuries and was later declared dead by the Tunica County Coroner.

The child who was also in the car received emergency care at the location before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The condition of the child has not been disclosed.

Officials confirmed that the bystander who witnessed the accident remained at the scene to assist first responders. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
