Fatal Ambridge shooting death of Mason Goins – Obituary
Mason Goins, a 26-year-old resident of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot on Tuesday evening in Beaver County, according to police reports released Wednesday morning by the county coroner.
Authorities say the shooting occurred around 3 p.m. on Church Street, where officers responded to a call about an unresponsive male lying in the roadway. When police arrived, they found Goins with at least one gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.
The suspect, also identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Andrews, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police noted that Andrews himself called 911 following the shooting.
Ambridge Police Chief John Deluca confirmed there had been an ongoing dispute between Goins and Andrews. “They had some kind of ongoing issue,” Deluca explained, suggesting the altercation may have stemmed from prior tensions. “We’re just at the beginning of uncovering what really happened.”
Authorities said charges against Andrews are being finalized, and he is expected to be transferred to Beaver County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
