Nazly Rodriguez-Munoz, 49, tragically passed away following a rear-end crash involving her passenger car and a semi-truck in Des Plaines, Illinois. The fatal accident happened late Sunday night, June 1, near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Leslie Lane.

 

Police reported that Rodriguez-Munoz was a passenger in a Toyota Prius traveling eastbound when the vehicle collided with the back of a Volvo semi-truck. The semi was reportedly either parked with its lights off or moving slowly, according to differing statements from the drivers involved. Responding officers found Rodriguez-Munoz suffering severe leg injuries and administered a tourniquet before emergency personnel transported her to a hospital where she later died.
