Gregory Lee Jaques dies in fatal Hemet crash near Diamond Valley Lake
Fatal Hemet crash death of Gregory Lee Jaques – Obituary
Gregory Lee Jaques, a 54-year-old man from Pico Rivera, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident east of Diamond Valley Lake on Thursday afternoon. The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau confirmed his identity after notifying his family.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jonathan Torres, Jaques was driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger southbound on State Street near Cactus Valley Road, about two miles south of Hemet. Witnesses reported the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road.
The car went off-road, rolling through brush and over boulders before coming to a stop on a hillside roughly 180 yards south of the intersection. Emergency responders found Jaques inside the overturned vehicle, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were involved. The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting the investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.
