Fatal Pettis County high-speed crash death of Ali Brooke Schoenthal – Obituary
Ali Brooke Schoenthal, a 16-year-old from Sedalia, lost her life in a high-speed single-vehicle accident in southeastern Pettis County on Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2025. The crash occurred on McVey Road near Bohon Road around 2:30 p.m., when the eastbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 19-year-old male from Windsor, veered off the roadway multiple times before overturning and hitting a group of trees.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ali Brooke was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Todd Ashbury. Her body was transported to Rea Funeral Chapel. The driver of the truck and two other passengers—aged 17 and 18—sustained serious to moderate injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The driver and the 17-year-old passenger were not wearing seat belts, while it is unclear if the 18-year-old wore one.
The Silverado was destroyed in the accident and was towed from the scene by InMotion. Pettis County Deputies assisted with the investigation.
Ali Brooke Schoenthal was born in Marshall and was the daughter of Terry A. Schoenthal and Ashley B. (Gillespie) Schoenthal. A GoFundMe page has been created by her uncle to support the family.
