Linda Gaona dies in fatal Fresno County canal incident

Fatal Fresno County canal death of Linda Gaona – Obituary

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the body recovered from a canal just south of Sanger on Monday morning belongs to 53-year-old Linda Gaona.

Her remains were discovered around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Newmark and American avenues by an irrigation worker. Gaona had been reported missing on May 25 and was known to frequent the vicinity where she was found.

Members of the sheriff’s dive team were dispatched to retrieve her body from the water. Investigators currently believe that her death does not involve any suspicious circumstances.
