Martin Soria dies in fatal Boyle Heights car crash

Fatal Boyle Heights car crash death of Martin Soria – Obituary

Martin Soria, 30, has been identified as the driver who lost his life following a high-speed police pursuit that ended in a crash in Boyle Heights early Friday morning. Soria was behind the wheel of a rented silver Aston Martin when he collided with a light pole at approximately 3 a.m.

After the collision, Soria attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers. During the arrest, he lost consciousness. Authorities from the California Highway Patrol reported that he appeared to suffer a medical emergency, likely cardiac arrest, shortly after being tackled and taken into custody.

Emergency responders arrived as Soria began showing signs of distress, including vomiting. Officers noted that it was unclear whether he had ingested a substance or if any form of intoxication played a role. Despite life-saving efforts on the scene, he was pronounced dead.

The Aston Martin had been rented through a luxury car service. The vehicle’s owner, Juan Orozco, described Soria as polite and communicative throughout the rental, mentioning that he had been extending his rental duration incrementally.

An official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
