Fatal Alamance County car crash death of Lily Hahn – Obituary

Eighteen-year-old Lily Hahn tragically lost her life in a car crash early Monday morning on Highway 87 in Alamance County, North Carolina, just days before her high school graduation.

 

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred around 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Tracey Hernandez veered across the center line and struck Hahn’s car head-on. Hahn was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Four children were also in Hernandez’s vehicle at the time of the incident. Although none were wearing seatbelts, authorities stated that none of them sustained life-threatening injuries.

 

Lily Hahn was set to graduate from Southeast Alamance High School within the week. Her future plans included studying at Alamance Community College and Appalachian State University. Family and friends expressed profound grief over her untimely death.

 

“Lily’s smile could light up any space, and her laugh was unforgettable,” wrote Natalie Cecil on a GoFundMe page created in Lily’s memory. “She had a heart of gold and brought endless happiness to those who knew her.”

 

Investigators suspect that Hernandez was under the influence while driving. She is expected to face charges once she is discharged from the hospital.
