Kelvin Joseph dies in fatal Dallas-area motorcycle crash

Fatal Dallas-area motorcycle crash death of Cody Morris – Obituary

Kelvin Joseph, a former NFL player, faces serious charges following a tragic collision that resulted in the death of a female motorcyclist near Dallas. Authorities reported that Joseph, 25, was driving a BMW involved in the accident early Saturday morning in Plano, a suburb of Dallas.

Richardson police stated that Joseph contacted law enforcement to report his involvement in the crash. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and a more severe charge of collision involving personal injury or death, a second-degree felony. The victim, 27-year-old Cody Morris from Plano, died at the scene.

Joseph’s professional football career began when he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, where he played for two seasons before being traded to Miami. He later had brief stints with Seattle and Indianapolis. Most recently, Joseph has been competing in the United Football League for the DC Defenders, who were preparing for a conference championship game at the time of his arrest.

This incident follows a 2022 off-season event when Joseph was a passenger in an SUV from which shots were fired, resulting in one fatality. Investigators cleared Joseph of any wrongdoing in that case, and the NFL took no disciplinary action.

As of now, it is unclear whether Joseph has secured legal representation following the latest arrest. The UFL acknowledged awareness of the situation but has not made further comments.
