Fatal Charlotte shooting death of Naveah Carter – Obituary

Seventeen-year-old Naveah Carter was killed early Saturday morning when someone opened fire on her vehicle at the intersection of North Graham Street and Craighead Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to the shooting, which happened just before 2 a.m. on May 31. When officers arrived, they found Naveah in the car with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

According to a police report, a 16-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital, although it remains unclear if he had been shot. Another vehicle at the scene sustained damage, and footage from the area showed that at least one car had crashed during the incident.

 

As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made. Authorities have not determined whether the shooting was a targeted attack or a random act of violence.

 

Naveah’s mother has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs.
