Fatal Noble County crash death of Roy M. Childs – Obituary
A deadly accident early Saturday morning in Noble County, Oklahoma, claimed the life of 28-year-old Roy M. Childs. The single-vehicle crash occurred on May 31, 2025, around 3:45 a.m. on OK-15 near County Road 190, just south of Red Rock.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Childs was driving westbound on OK-15 when his vehicle veered off the left side of the road. After traveling roughly 215 feet, his vehicle collided with a concrete bridge railing, resulting in extensive damage.
Emergency personnel rushed Childs to Integris Health Ponca City Hospital, where he was declared dead by hospital staff. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under active investigation, and officials have not yet released additional information regarding potential causes or contributing factors.
Single-vehicle crashes on rural highways like OK-15 continue to be a leading cause of traffic fatalities in Oklahoma. These roadways, which often lack sufficient lighting and have higher average speeds, can be especially dangerous during nighttime or early morning hours. Collisions involving stationary objects, such as bridge railings, frequently result in serious or fatal injuries due to the force of impact.
Seatbelt use remains a critical factor in survivability. In Roy Childs’ case, the absence of a seatbelt may have increased the severity of his injuries.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Roy M. Childs during this tragic time.
