A deadly shooting in LaGrange, Georgia, early Sunday morning has left 19-year-old Javeon Dukes dead and six others injured, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.
Police responded to reports of gunfire around 1 a.m. on June 8 at 105 Seminary Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that seven individuals had been shot.
Emergency responders transported all victims to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center for urgent treatment. Unfortunately, Javeon Dukes was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The conditions of the remaining six victims range from stable to serious, with some already released from the hospital while others remain under medical care.
The LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the probe into the shooting. Investigators are working to uncover what led to the violence and to identify those responsible.
