Fatal Allen County shooting death of Joshua Stanka – Obituary

Joshua Stanka, a 42-year-old man from Brownsville, Kentucky, was shot and killed by a deputy responding to a domestic disturbance in Allen County on the afternoon of June 6.

According to Kentucky State Police, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on Shockley Road in Scottsville around 4:30 p.m. CDT. Upon arrival, they encountered Stanka, who was reportedly armed with a firearm.

During the confrontation, one of the deputies discharged their weapon, fatally shooting Stanka. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

KSP has taken over the investigation and is currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have stated that more details will be released once key witnesses have been interviewed and critical facts are confirmed.
