Joel Allen Katz dies in fatal Silver Spring bicycle collision

Fatal Silver Spring collision death of Joel Allen Katz – Obituary

Joel Allen Katz, an 85-year-old Silver Spring resident, passed away after being involved in a deadly bicycle accident on June 1, 2025.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department, Katz was riding his bicycle in the 15000 block of Bramblewood Drive when he was struck by a blue 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV backing out of a driveway.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 4 p.m., and Katz was transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. Sadly, he succumbed to those injuries on June 7, 2025.
