Fatal Cleveland shooting death of Kiara Jackson – Obituary
Kiara Jackson, 25, was shot and killed early Wednesday morning at Mill Creek Falls in Cleveland, according to authorities.
Police say the shooting happened around 3:40 a.m. near the entrance to the park off Broadway Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Jackson with a fatal gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cleveland Metroparks Police have since identified a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Lavia M. Paul of Cleveland. Investigators believe Paul is responsible for the deadly shooting and are asking the public to share any information on his whereabouts.
Jackson’s family told reporters she was a devoted mother to two children, ages 6 and 7. They said she had been at the park with a group of people before the incident occurred.
Deshawnte Jackson, Kiara’s sister, described her as a vibrant and kind-hearted woman who brought joy to everyone around her. The family is now coping with the heartbreaking loss and seeking justice.
