Fatal Morgan Township drowning death of Ian Pequignot – Obituary

Ian Pequignot, a 7-year-old boy, tragically lost his life in a drowning accident at a pool on Timber Walk Lane in Morgan Township on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Pequignot was swimming under adult supervision with other children when his mother realized he had not resurfaced after snorkeling. She immediately jumped into the deep end to try to save him.

Emergency responders from the Morgan Township Life Squad performed life-saving efforts and transported Ian to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning. The child’s age was initially reported as 6 but later corrected to 7 years old.

Ian’s untimely death has deeply affected his family and community, who mourn the loss of a young life taken too soon.
