Louisville, Kentucky Man Eliener Marquez Rodriguez Arrested in Fern Creek for Shooting

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Eliener Marquez Rodriguez, a 62-year-old resident of Louisville, was arrested in Fern Creek in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday night.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), Rodriguez was taken into custody after a victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds identified him by showing detectives a picture. The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. on the 5900 block of Shelby Street. The victim, who was shot in the shoulder and abdomen, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital and is expected to survive.

 

Rodriguez later traveled to a location on Outer Loop and turned himself in. During an interview with investigators, he was read his Miranda rights and confessed to shooting the victim twice.

 

Rodriguez was transported to Louisville Metro Corrections and is currently facing charges of second-degree assault related to the incident.
