San Leandro, California Man Arrested in Dublin for Freeway Shooting

DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA — An unidentified man was arrested in San Leandro on Wednesday in connection with a freeway shooting that took place in Dublin earlier that morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect was taken into custody after allegedly firing at least five shots at another driver on eastbound Interstate 580 near Flynn and Grant Line roads around 9:02 a.m. The victim, who was driving a Tesla Model 3, was not injured, and the vehicle was not struck.

Authorities tracked the suspect’s red GMC Yukon to San Leandro using Flock license plate readers. Police located the vehicle, discovered a loaded firearm inside, and arrested the driver.

The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail and is currently facing charges related to the incident.
