Fatal Horry County pedestrian crash death of Amanda Hewitt – Obituary
Amanda Hewitt, a 38-year-old resident of Conway, South Carolina, was identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed in a collision on Highway 501 earlier this year. The deadly incident took place on the morning of April 10, 2025, in the area between West Perry Road and Legends Road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Hewitt was hit by a 2025 Freight Liner Tanker Truck while on or near the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities initially sought additional information about the incident, including the possibility of other vehicles being involved. Her identity was later confirmed through DNA analysis, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol led the investigation, with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
