Fatal Midwood car crash death of Rino El-Saieh – Obituary
Rino El-Saieh, 42, lost his life after the scooter he was riding collided with a BMW in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood on the evening of June 12, 2025. Police say the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. at Avenue P and East 2nd Street as El-Saieh attempted a left-hand turn and was struck by the oncoming car.
Medics rushed him to Maimonides Medical Center, where his condition was initially listed as critical; he later succumbed to his injuries. The BMW was driven by a 17-year-old who remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No citations or charges have been filed while the New York Police Department’s Collision Investigation Squad continues its inquiry.
Department statistics indicate this is only the second traffic fatality reported in the 66th Precinct—which covers portions of Midwood and Borough Park—so far this year. Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the NYPD Traffic Hotline.
