Fatal Orange County stabbing death of Sergio Esquivel Sanchez – Obituary

Sergio Esquivel Sanchez, 24, of Orange, died early Friday morning after being stabbed during a fight in Orange County. The altercation occurred near Rancho Santiago Boulevard and Hewes Street, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched around 1:24 a.m. after receiving reports of people yelling and fighting in the area. Upon arriving, authorities located a scene indicating a violent confrontation. Shortly after, dispatch confirmed that Sanchez had been stabbed in the chest and taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation and identified 20-year-old Melchor Aleszi of Tustin as the person responsible. Aleszi was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of homicide.
