Fatal South Austin shooting death of Steven A. Lares – Obituary

Steven A. Lares, 38, was identified as one of the two men fatally shot during a double homicide on Chicago’s West Side Friday night. The incident took place around 11:41 p.m. on the 100-block of Laramie Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood.

Both victims were inside a vehicle when an unknown assailant approached and opened fire. Despite being rushed to the hospital, both men succumbed to their injuries. The second victim remains unidentified but is estimated to be between 30 and 50 years old.

Authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting and continue to investigate the case. The Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed Lares’ identity. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
