Authorities in New Castle, Delaware, have identified 19-year-old Tahjir Pipkin as the individual who was shot and killed on Thursday night in the Rose Hill Gardens area.

The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Ryan Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered Pipkin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to Christiana Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him, and he was later declared deceased.

As of now, police have not made any arrests in connection with the case. The Criminal Investigation Unit has taken over the inquiry.

Investigators noted that a crowd had gathered in the Rose Hill Park parking lot near the time of the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the event or who may have video footage to come forward.
